A website is a useful start; a visit and an honest conversation are where suitability becomes clearer.
Look beyond the building.
Ask how the home understands routines, communication, food, family involvement and changing needs. Meet the manager, see shared spaces and ask how the team assesses whether it can support the person safely.
Questions to take on a visit
Who will be the main contact? How are care plans reviewed? What are visiting arrangements? What support is available if needs change? What are the current fees and what is included?
